The North Indian version of Diwali - Rama came back after killing Ravana and finishing 14 years exile. Simple version, an exploited poor son, who was exiled to a forest, fought with a villain for kidnapping his wife, rescued his wife from beautiful gardens of Lanka and came back home - soon to throw her back in forests. The conspiracy version of Diwali - Bloody Sivakasi guys have created a fake festival to sell all those expensive crackers and fireworks. The atheist version of Diwali - Holiday, Cool.
