These the few comments I’ve seen on a post today at TechCrunch The post is about an Indian software Engineer getting arrested for creating a community in Orkut. Well, its not ‘any’ community but a community which he named “I hate Sonia Gandhi” and he had few vulgar comments about her there.

As Sonia Gandhi is PM of India (Isn’t she the real PM ?), few people might wanted to impress her or may really din’t like what this kid is doing. They asked Google for his account details. Google dint tell no - and gave his email id. And through email id they got his identity. Trust me, this guy is either a dumb-f*** or he never expected his silly-hatred-hobby to become such a big deal. He had that community under his email address rahulvaidindia [at] gmail [dot] com and the cyber crime cell of Pune cought him and now he is arrested.

There are several things to be given a thought after this incident. Major of them are

  • Don’t be a dumb-f*** and start hate-communities
  • Freedom of expression, democracy etc etc are the terms which others use for you when you are in jail
  • When doing stupid things DO make sure that you are not doing anything against law
  • Not everyone is as good as Piratebay guys - they are doing nothing against law (in their country atleast) and even they were arrested once
  • And finally - Grow Up. You achieve nothing by creating a hate-community other than waste your time

If you see few of my previous posts, you would understand that I hate rediff. But, come on, its my best time pass. Those dumb bugs, annoying ads, silly flame wars on boards make my day almost every day ;) When you hate something (someone), you are doing nothing but giving it (them) more importance in your life which you certainly wouldn’t want to do.

Have fun on internet.

Scared and bored of this stuff. Even before the traces of VTech were gone, one idiot did same crap in Finland and now another idiot did the same thing in Northern Illinois university.

As everyone tells, US Govt. should do something regarding this. I’ve no clue what they should do, but they should do something. They should do that ’some thing’ so that this ’same thing’ wont happen again and again. Bloody they really should do ‘that thing’ as fast as possible to avoid another occurrence of ‘this thing’.

Enough crap. I’m pissed off by the idiots who are killing people just because they’re losers and they want to die. Guys, there is something named suicide, bloody do it if you want to die, don’t kill others.

All you psychopaths there, understand this. Live is a long process for others unlike you guys. They have had worked very hard for their life. They have had worked very hard for their relations. Bloody, atleast one of them must have called 100 times in a weekend to apologize his girl friend. Atleast one of them must have slept at 5 AM for a week to finish his homework. Running behind the bus to catch it so that he don’t miss the examination. And you guys have no clue about desi-students there. I know how hard is life of an Indian student. Competition, competition and more competition. Just in search of better life, they’ve left their loved ones, friends, city and even country and are living in your place. They’ve had lived all their life to make the rest of their life better.

You being one annoyed kid right from your child hood, take one bloody pistol and shoot in the crowd and when it hits one of the above students I mentioned ….. That’s it. All the trouble he has taken for whole of his life, for the rest of it, is gone in vain. Because of one ass’le like you, not only his dreams are shattered but all his loved ones hearts are broken.

After doing all that, you don’t get any satisfaction. You just want to kill yourself. Why the hell you wont consider this option first when you really want to go out of this world ? If you want a normal solution, bloody consult a damn psychiatrist. He will certainly give you a solution which doesn’t involve bullets and broken hearts.

Well, after writing this, all I can understand is, argh, who’s going to read, understand and change ? Just chillax with a joke. Thanks XKCD.

No big stories behind this. Watched a movie and did a small-common-analysis aided by friends, life, movies. Here first one is the Venn Diagram of selection analysis of a typical-not-so-bad-yet-not-so-good boy and the second one is the same analysis of a typical-not-so-bad-yet-not-so-good girl. To be frank, I’m not complaining here, just trying to explain for a guy, most of the time, its only HIM who matters and for a girl, there are so many security-factors and confusions that come into the diagram. Well, as usual, we are living with the facts, and as usual, who cares ??? Have fun and do your happy analysis of life.

Google is a great company. It sure is. What ever Microsoft has done to IBM twenty years ago (I’ve no clue about it as I was three years that time, but I read this a lot of times whenever I read about Google. Being a hardcore fan of Google, I believed it) Google has done to Microsoft few/five years before. Now, Google is the same awkward position in which Microsoft was(is). Google has lost its “That Company” tag among the Great Engineers and others of the IT world. Now, its not the hottest/coolest place for those great guys to work. Welcome the the new kid in the block, who is becoming Google’s Google - Facebook.

I saw an article in TechCrunch - Facebook stealing Googlers at an alarming rate. Facebook knows the best place to get engineers just like Google knew when it was growing from 100s to fifteen-thousand. It has recruited much talent from Microsoft, and now, its losing talent to Facebook. Here is a note from Justin Rosenstein telling that Facebook is “That Company”

A couple of months ago, after three years as a Google product manager, I decided to leave for Facebook. I am writing this note to spread Good News to all the friends I haven’t already overwhelmed with my enthusiasm: Facebook really is That company.

Which company? That one. That company that shows up once in a very long while — the Google of yesterday, the Microsoft of long ago. That company where large numbers of stunningly-brilliant people congregate and feed off each other’s genius. That company that’s doing with 60 engineers what teams of 600 can’t pull off. That company that’s on the cusp of Changing The World, that’s still small enough where each employee has a huge impact on the organization, where you think about working now and again, and where you know you’ll kick yourself in three years if you don’t jump on the bandwagon now, even after someone had told you that it was rolling toward the promised land. That company where everyone seems to be having the time of their life.

I’m serious. I have drunk from the kool-aid, and it is delicious. Facebook is hiring ambitiously across the organization. If you’re an engineer, UI designer, product manager, statistician, bizdev god, general entrepreneurial badass, whatever, and you would even consider considering Facebook as your new place for hat-hanging, please send me a Facebook message. We can have lunch, or I can give you a tour, or we can go kick it with Mark Zuckerberg — whatever it takes.

Well, yeah. <sarcasm>So true. Facebook is the best company to work for</sarcasm> There are two things to consider here as reasons. One is money, second is passion. Money is the obvious reason for many guys to switch a company. Facebook is a hot company right now and its going to become public, and its offering stock options - any guy with working brain can see lots of potential money in front of him. So, they are switching to Facebook. There is another interesting version of reasoning and it is “it’s not just about the money. Entrepreneurs want to work at the hottest place on earth and right now that’s Facebook.” Well, as always, for any story, there will be “My Version”, “Your Version” and “The Truth”.

Here, the possible truth could be the combination of money-factor, hottest-place-factor and not-a-big-company-factor, as many intelligent people prefer to work for themselves or a small company rather than a big company. Google is no-more the new kid in the block, its been nine years and is fifteen-thousand-employees in size. Microsoft did a big mistake when Google was small, it should have acquired it. When, Google became big, it was nothing but a search-engine, now its competing with Microsoft in all possible fields. Right now, Facebook could be just a social-networking platform, but who knows what it got in its bag for us in the future.

There was a photography competition held by a group at my work place. I submitted one of the photos I took. I knew that its not good enough to win, but I just wanted to try. Finally, the DSCN1026results are released and as I expected, I didn’t see the photo I submitted. All my anxiety was to look at the winning photos. If you know your competition, there are good chances of winning atleast the next time. So, I wanted to analyze my competition first.

As soon as I saw the first photo, I can feel that I was too stupid to submit. The photo is damn good. Second and third photos were excellent. I became happy rather than being disappointed. I lost to great photos. I would have been very disappointed if the winning photos were not that good.

But, my happiness ended when I started to look for specs of those photos as I wanted to know how the best photos were taken (I wanted shutter speeds, focal lengths, apertures, camera makes etc) Some of them don’t even qualify as per competition rules. Competition rules were, photo must not be older than an year - one of the photos was taken in 2005, Photos must be of >300dpi - most varied from 72dpi to 180dpi (I’ve no clue why they kept this stupid rule, but its a rule !!!) Photos must be original - Some of them got Photoshop CS2 tag and one of them looked too good to be original (for Canon Powershot G3)

But, I should accept that some of them were classic and they remind me that I should learn a lot before trying to compete with them. Well, I’m going to give them a tough competition next year.
